Research on the Improvement of Environmental Pollution by Garden Landscape Design using different... This paper introduced the principles and methods of landscape design, then proposed two different vegetation configuration designs, and applied them to an industrial area with heavy metal pollution in soil. Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy technology was used for measurement, and the index of geo-accumulation (Igeo) and the improved Nemerow pollution index (INI) were used for evaluation. The results showed that before the experiment, the content of heavy metals in the soil was high, and the pollution degree of Hg was high (between moderate and severe), followed by Cd, Cr, Cu, and Pb. The Igeo grade of Cd, Cr, Cu, and Pb was 2, which was evaluated as moderate pollution, and the INI grade was 2. After the experiment, under the effect of the landscape design, the content of heavy metals in the soil decreased significantly, the Igeo grade decreased to 0–2, and the INI grade was 1, indicating not polluted to moderate pollution.
