Repair and sealing of nozzle channels in coke batteries with bottom heating-gas supply Problems in the operation of coke battery 6 at Rourkela Steel Plant (India) are analyzed. Coke battery 6 is of PVR-51 type, with heating-gas supply at the bottom, and consists of 41.6-m3 ovens; combined heating is employed. The use of a stainless-steel sleeve to eliminate the leaking of heating gas (coke-oven gas) from the hearth channels at the slipping seams is described. Abstract

Problems in the operation of coke battery 6 at Rourkela Steel Plant (India) are analyzed.
