To achieve this, not only the mobility sector but also all other industrial processes will have to be CO neutral. An important role will be played by power-to-gas technol- ogies that enable Synthetic Natural Gas (SNG) to be produced using renewable energy. The use of natural gas as a fuel for combustion engines makes basic sense, since lower amounts of CO are produced compared to diesel. The use of synthetic methane can also make an effective contribution toward decarbonization and hence climate protection. In cooperation
