Redox state of coal’s organic system

Redox state of coal’s organic system In the transformation of plant matter to humus, the redox conditions are determined in the peat-forming level (aerobic conditions) by the partial pressure of atmospheric oxygen and at lower levels (anaerobic conditions) by the activity of oxygen, specified by the basicity of the water-mineral feed. The factors determining the state of the organic system are discussed, along with the corresponding petrographic formulas. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Coke and Chemistry Springer Journals

Abstract

In the transformation of plant matter to humus, the redox conditions are determined in the peat-forming level (aerobic conditions) by the partial pressure of atmospheric oxygen and at lower levels (anaerobic conditions) by the activity of oxygen, specified by the basicity of the water-mineral feed. The factors determining the state of the organic system are discussed, along with the corresponding petrographic formulas.
