HYDROBIOLOGICAL BULLETIN 17(2): 179- 182 (t983) CONG R ESSES JOINT M EETI NG HS- EBSA-OC 1984 The Netherlands Hydrobiological Society, together with the Oceanographers' Club and the Estuarine and Brackish-water Science Association are organising a symposium on 11, 12 and 13 September 1984 at NIOZ, Texel called: 'Nutrients in Estuaries, Eutrophication and other Effects'. The following topics are chosen: nutrient balance in estuaries; sediment water exchange of nutrients; eutrophication; nutrient fauna interrelationships; impact of discharges; nutrient limitation of growth. Those who want to submit a paper or poster are requested to send an abstract of their contri- bution to the HS-secretary before the end of February 1984. The abstract should include an account of the objectives of the research, its theoretical context, a summary of the relevant results and the main conclusions drawn from the study (all together one A4-page). Contributors will be informed of the acceptance of their submitted papers (or posters) during April 1984. Those who want to participate in the meeting are requested to apply their tentative partici- pation to the HS-secretary (before the end of February 1984). A more detailed program will be sent to the participants in June 1984. The papers will be published
