Products NE W S PR O D U CT S Walter Stauffenberg | Corrosion- resistant Hydraulic Line Components When used in agricultural machinery, hydraulic line components, such as pipe and hose connections and mountings, need to fulfil high demands regarding corrosion resistance. In many cases, these components come into direct con- tact with aggressive substances from mineral fertilisers that contain phos- phate or nitrogen. As there are no standards or other regulations that are man- datory for all manufacturers regarding the testing of resistance to fertilisers, many manufacturers carry out their own tests by exposing the components to fertiliser substances over defined periods of time, either in short periods or continuously. Due to the lack of reference data, the equipment supplier is then usually chosen on the basis of a visual comparison of the results. Many tests carried out by customers have verified the resistance of the zinc-nickel coating of Stauff and Voswinkel components, not only towards numerous fertilisers but also towards pesticides and other aggressive media. The coating provides more than 1200 h of resistance against red rust/base metal corrosion under practi- cal testing conditions in the salt spray chamber according to DIN EN ISO 9227.
