President’s Message Indian J Surg Oncol (September 2017) 8(3):253–254 DOI 10.1007/s13193-017-0674-x PRESIDENT'S ADDRESS Published online: 27 June 2017 Indian Association of Surgical Oncology 2017 is no uniformity in the teaching programmes of surgical oncology conducted by various institutions. National Board probably would have been an answer to achieve National standardization, but for its social acceptance.That is where the IASO can make a pivotal role through its national, zonal and state level teaching platforms. More faculty can be drawn into cadre of mentors and more trainees can be exposed to the na- tional scene. The IASO has involved itself in many academic programmes this year which include Apollo Conclave at Hyderabad, HIPEC Workshop at Manipal Hospitals- Bangalore, Thyroid workshop at JIPMER-Pondicherry, UGICON at Ahmedabad, MIDCON 2017 at PGIMER Chandigarh, Oesophageal Workshop at Shillong, etc.… so far. It has got many more programmes to go on this year.
