The osmotic fragility and erythrocyte size were studied on 80 blood samples (40 of each) obtained from both genusCaiman species present in Argentina, maintained in captive condition in the Northeastern region of the country (Province of Corrientes). The animals were of different size, age and sex, and were fed an artificial diet for five days a week.
