Miss Goss, a former senio r plant pathologist with the Wes tern Australian Departme nt of Agriculture, died in Perth on 13 March. Olga jo i ned th e Depa rt me nt i n 194 5 an d became a highly respected plant pathologist. It is th ou gh t she wa s th e fi rst fema le unive rsity trained graduate professiona l officer in the Department. She retired in 1980. Whe n she j oined , there were two ot her plant path ologists. O lga was given a former strong­ room in the basement of an old office building as a lab oratory a nd wo rk area .
