Occurrence, succession and distribution of chroöcoccal Cyanobacteria in Lake Maarsseveen I

Occurrence, succession and distribution of chroöcoccal Cyanobacteria in Lake Maarsseveen I Four species of chroöcoccal Cyanobacteria were dominant in Lake Maarsseveen I in 1987:Gomphosphaeria lacustris, Chroöcoccus sp.,Aphanocapsa sp. andMicrocystis aeruginosa. The first two were dominant in the water column, the latter two in the sediment. In the water columnAphanocapsa, Microcystis andGomphosphaeria appeared and showed highest abundance at the same time, whileChroöcoccus filled the gaps between the peaks of the others. The distribution in the sediment was related to its texture. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Aquatic Ecology Springer Journals

Abstract

Four species of chroöcoccal Cyanobacteria were dominant in Lake Maarsseveen I in 1987:Gomphosphaeria lacustris, Chroöcoccus sp.,Aphanocapsa sp. andMicrocystis aeruginosa.
