Abstract A method of maximizing the noise immunity coefficient of a two-layer hydroacoustic antenna is proposed. An antenna consisting of two parallel linear arrays is considered as an example to estimate the gain in noise immunity achieved with the proposed algorithm against the cardioid-type connection of these arrays.
