Longevity and Sex Ratio of Two Gall-Inducing Psyllids: Trioza fletcheri minor Crawford and Trioza hirsuta (Crawford)

Longevity and Sex Ratio of Two Gall-Inducing Psyllids: Trioza fletcheri minor Crawford and Trioza... Study on longevity and sex-ratios of two gall inducing psyllid species, Trioza fletcheri minor and T. hirsuta that feed on the host plant, Terminalia arjuna was made in laboratory condition. Longevity is influenced by sex, sexual state and food. Between the species, T. hirsuta lived longer than T. fletcheri minor. Sex ratio of the two species favoured the females which survived longer than males, whether mated or unmated, in all seasons of the year. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Proceedings of the Zoological Society Springer Journals

Abstract

Study on longevity and sex-ratios of two gall inducing psyllid species, Trioza fletcheri minor and T. hirsuta that feed on the host plant, Terminalia arjuna was made in laboratory condition. Longevity is influenced by sex, sexual state and food. Between the species, T. hirsuta lived longer than T. fletcheri minor. Sex ratio of the two species favoured the females which survived longer than males, whether mated or unmated, in all seasons of the year.
