The results of studying the crystallization ability and the thermal linear expansion coefficient of glasses of the BaO–La2O3-B2O3–ZrO2–TiO2–SiO2–Nb2O5 system, intended for the production of a light-guiding core of a rigid optical fiber, are presented. Transmission electron microscopy has established the nature of silencing of the studied glasses during production. With the help of X-ray phase analysis, the main crystalline phases that precipitate during heat treatment of glass samples were established. The compositions of glasses characterized by a minimum tendency to crystallization are determined. The effect of the chemical composition of glasses on their structure was established by infrared spectroscopy.
