Hippocrates, a famous son of the island, Greek archipelago. This group of 12 islands, which used to was the most prominent of the Asclepiads, as well as of all be called the Southern Sporades, is historically connected to ancient Greek physicians (Fig. 2). Hippocrates was born on the neighboring Cyclades. The entire region has an uninter- Kos in 460 BC as the son of a physician. He probably studied rupted Greek tradition. Kos is situated south of the sponge at the medical schools of Kos and Ionia and in the Asclepios divers' island Kálymnos and north of Nísyros at the mouth temple of Ephesus. He embarked on extensive study trips, of the Gulf of Kos. Only four nautical miles separate Kos which also led him to Egypt and Asia. It is said that Pericles from Asia Minor (Fig. 1).
