Grundvorstellungen mathematischer Inhalte als didaktisches Modell Conceptions of „basic ideas” („Grundvorstellungen”) which emphasize the constitution of meaning of mathematical contents have been so far realized in some special didactic approaches (so-called „Stoffdidaktik”) as principles for structuring curricula. By means of case studies, it will be discussed to what extent these conceptions can provide elements for a constructive analysis of students’ strategies and mistakes resulting from these strategies. Abstract

Conceptions of „basic ideas” („Grundvorstellungen”) which emphasize the constitution of meaning of mathematical contents have been so far realized in some special didactic approaches (so-called „Stoffdidaktik”) as principles for structuring curricula. By means of case studies, it will be discussed to what extent these conceptions can provide elements for a constructive analysis of students’ strategies and mistakes resulting from these strategies.
