Construction of the Business Center
Bored piles embedded in rocky soils or cutting through them are often used in foundations of high-rise buildings. The results of investigations at the unique facilities in Moscow and Ekaterinburg show that the bearing capacity of such piles is provided mainly by friction on the lateral surface, and in 90% of the cases when the pile cuts through rocky soils its heel is not included in the work. Recommendations are given for assessing the bearing capacity of bored piles in rocky soils.
