Annals of Dyslexia is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed journal published annually by The International Dyslexia Association. Our focus is on the understanding, prevention, and remedia tion of written language difficulties (reading, writing, spelling, handwriting) and related areas, giving primary consideration to original research papers and including significant reviews and well-documented reports of effective practices. We encour age and often solicit submissions from both members of IDA and other researchers, educators, and clinicians concerned with language disabilities. Under the leadership of our previous editor, Anne Fowler, and those who preceded her, Annals has steadily increased its stature as a respected journal in the field. Throughout the years, Annals editors have invited leading researchers to prepare "sig nificant" reviews for our readers of important research devel opments in the field. This year in Part I, A Review of Research on the Biological Basis of Dyslexia, Tom Zeffiro and Guinevere Eden summarize and critique evidence concerning the neurological bases of developmental dyslexia. Though the articles submitted and solicited for Annals of Dyslexia each year represent an eclectic mix, they tend to cluster Intervention Issues continue to be one focus of this into themes.
