Farewell and thank-you to Eric Ketelaar

Farewell and thank-you to Eric Ketelaar Arch Sci (2014) 14:1 DOI 10.1007/s10502-014-9217-1 EDITORI A L N OTE • • Elizabeth Yakel Karen Anderson Gillian Oliver Springer Science+Business Media Dordrecht 2014 This issue marks a major transition for Archival Science. After 14 years, Eric Ketelaar, the last of the original three editors-in-chief of Archival Science, officially stepped down in December. We are sorry to see Eric move on, but are pleased to announce that he has graciously agreed to be on our Editorial Board. When Archival Science began, Eric had a vision for a new archival journal—one that was international, interdisciplinary, and grappled with the hard questions facing archival institutions and archivists. Throughout the years with Eric at the helm, the journal has grown, prospered, and worked toward achieving those goals. Eric was a major force in making this happen, and the position, reputation, and intellectual rigor of Archival Science are largely due to Eric. He leaves Archival Science in great shape as a well-established and widely read journal. We thank him for all his hard work, dedication, and promotion of Archival Science. By realizing his vision, he created a unique journal in the archival field and in so doing made a major contribution to scholarship http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Archival Science Springer Journals
