Errata

Errata Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology, Iiol. 21, No. 2, 1993 In the article by Silverman and Ragusa published in the Journal of Abnor- mal Child Psychology, 1992, 20, 415-435, scores on the Kendall-Wilcox Self- Control Rating Scale were not consistently reversed as was intended. Consequently, the means for the mothers and teachers on the scale re- ported in Table I are not correct. The correct means for the Samples 1 and 2 mothers are 3.87 and 4.12, respectively, and for the Samples 1 and 2 teachers are both 4.33. In addition, the signs of correlations and partial correlations with self-control are incorrect in several cases. In Table II, the correlation between mother-rated self-control and the delay composite should be .35. In Table IV, the correlations between mother-rated self-con- trol, on the one hand, and encouragement of independence, strictness, and warmth, on the other, should be .42, -.30, and .57, respectively; the partial correlation between mother-rated self-control and warmth should be .51; and the correlation and partial correlation between teacher-rated self-con- trol and warmth should be .49 and .43, respectively. A final correction is that, contrary to what is stated on pp. 426-427, the correlation between teacher-rated ADHD and encouragement http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology Springer Journals
