Effect of Irrigation Time on the Growth Rate and Indoor Environment of Greenhouse Eggplant In order to obtain a more reasonable irrigation schedule in greenhouse, an experimental study was carried out in Agriculture High-efficient Yongshui Laboratory, North China Institute of Water Conservancy and Hydroelectric Power, Henan province in China. This experiment took three irrigation treatments to examine the influence of different irrigation time points on the eggplant growth status and indoor environment. In the test, indoor plant growth detection system was used for a real-time monitoring of both the plant physiological status and indoor environmental status. Through analysis of the stem diameter, leaf–air temperature difference and vapor pressure deficit, the results shown that the stem diameter growth rates of greenhouse eggplant in the three treatments had an increasing order as: irrigation at night < irrigation at noon < irrigation at morning, and the irrigation in morning and nighttime had a better regulating effect on indoor transpiration environment than the noontime. It is indicated that the optimum irrigation time for greenhouse eggplant should be morning irrigation.
