Artificial intelligence and software engineering: a tutorial introduction to their relationship This article is a tutorial introduction to artificial intelligence for software engineers, and a similar introduction to software engineering for artificial intelligence workers. Software engineering and artificial intelligence are compared and contrasted in terms of the problems they attempt to solve, the methods they employ, and the tools and techniques that are used. It is argued that a fusion of the two disciplines will be needed for many new software demands. Abstract

This article is a tutorial introduction to artificial intelligence for software engineers, and a similar introduction to software engineering for artificial intelligence workers. Software engineering and artificial intelligence are compared and contrasted in terms of the problems they attempt to solve, the methods they employ, and the tools and techniques that are used.
