Announcement ANNO~CE~ The French "Socitt6 de Biologie Thtorique (SFBT) has been founded in 1984 by the driving power of P. Delattre; as successive presidents served P. Delattre, G. Chauvet and now R. Thorn, the vice-presidents were P. Thellier and now F. Gros. The SFBT organizes each year a meeting in the old romanesque abbey of Solignac near Limoges. The Proceed- ings of these meetings are published since 1984 in French at the "Presses du CNRS" (295 rue St Jacques, 75 005 Paris) and represent a good selection of the french production in theoretical biology. The Society is also supporting the organization of a non-regular "Ecole d'Automne de Biologie Thtorique" (fall school of theoretical biology) receiving in Solignac about 50 participants attending courses and lectures given by about 35 lecturers during 3 weeks. In order to foster our exchanges with the sister societies in Europe, the policy of the SFBT is now oriented in three complementary directions: - encouraging the constitution of an European journal, by asking the Acta Biotheoretica to become the official journal of both Dutch and French Societies of theoretical biology - transforming our french fall school in an European one, by inviting foreign lecturers and by applying http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Acta Biotheoretica Springer Journals
