Acoustic streaming in a cylindrical cavity at variation of its radius and boundary conditions

Acoustic streaming in a cylindrical cavity at variation of its radius and boundary conditions Acoustic streaming in a vibrating air-filled cylindrical cavity is numerically investigated. Adiabatic and isothermal boundary conditions are considered, as well as the case in which adiabatic and isothermal boundary conditions are set respectively at the ends of the cavity and on its lateral surface. The value of the cavity radius at which the axial component of acoustic streaming velocity attains its maximum is found. The influence of the radius of the cavity and boundary conditions at its ends on the free oscillations, at the initial stage of the process, on the period average temperature, and on the acoustic streaming pattern is described. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Thermophysics and Aeromechanics Springer Journals

Abstract

Acoustic streaming in a vibrating air-filled cylindrical cavity is numerically investigated.
