Thermophysics and Aeromechanics, 2019, Vol. 26, No. 4 DOI: 10.1134/S0869864319040152 August 5, 2019 was the 75th anniversary of the Honoured Scientist of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Viktor I. Terekhov. In 1968, V.I. Terekhov graduated from the Department of Power Mechanical Engineering of Bauman Moscow Higher Technical School and was sent to work as a design engineer in the Institute of Nuclear Physics, Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. There he worked from 1968 to 1972, then, after a year of work at the Chaplygin State Siberian Aeronau- tical Research Institute, he entered the post-graduate course at the Institute of Thermophysics SB AS USSR. His further labour activity has been connected with this Institute. After gradua- tion, Viktor Terekhov has made a distinguished career from a junior researcher to a head of the Department of Thermogasdynamics. In 1978, he defended the PhD thesis, and in 1988, the doctoral dissertation. V.I. Terekhov is a deserving disciple of the school headed by academicians S.S. Kuta- teladze, A.I. Leontyev, and E.P.
