Wind Power Density Statistics Using the Weibull Model for Inner Mongolia, China

Wind Power Density Statistics Using the Weibull Model for Inner Mongolia, China The Weibull density function is used to estimate the wind energy potential of Zhurihe station (42.2°N, 112.5°E) situated in the most windy area of Inner Mongolia, China. Based on 10 years (1991–2000) measured daily-average wind-speed data, the scale and shape parameters of the Weibull model are estimated and the probability density distributions are derived from the time-series data. The wind energy potential of Zhurihe station is also evaluated by the Weibull model. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Wind Engineering SAGE

Abstract

The Weibull density function is used to estimate the wind energy potential of Zhurihe station (42.2°N, 112.5°E) situated in the most windy area of Inner Mongolia, China. Based on 10 years (1991–2000) measured daily-average wind-speed data, the scale and shape parameters of the Weibull model are estimated and the probability density distributions are derived from the time-series data. The wind energy potential of Zhurihe station is also evaluated by the Weibull model.
