Abstract
What is applied gerontology? At the American Association of Retired Persons(AARP), program design and delivery is a function not only of the utilization ofresearch but also of the use of older volunteers and common sense in addressing theproblems of aging. The authors argue that applied gerontology encompasses theseelements and a definition is proposed.
