The original position advertised was as Sales Specialist involving field work and coverage of both' public and private hospitals throughout Australia in a sales related capacity. The main objective at this level of responsibility was to create awareness and obtain feedback at the user level of the encoder software product. From April 1992 the position changed to Clinical Support Specialist as a contract with the Commonwealth Government for development of AN-DRGs was awarded. The key focus of this job is to provide and ensure client support on a timely basis for installation, coding, grouping and general enquiries. The responsibility of loading and testing all software releases, including latest updates, to allow familiarisation and training, and to enhance and promote customer, vendor and team support is ongoing. A major focus of the position is on site customer visits for training purposes and any other support related issues. Also, the position requires responses to phone or written enquiries regarding coding and grouper logic issues related to the AN-DRG grouper and definitions manual. The position is integral to a team environment which consists of a Sales Margie Luke Specialist and Software Engineer Support Specialist. Clinical Support Specialist Having a high level of communication skills and the ability to work within a 3M Health Information Systems team environment are essential requirements. 3M Health Care Group Australia AMR JOURNAL VOL. 23 NO.4. 1993 http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Australian Medical Record Journal SAGE
