Only such individuals and organization with II high reputation in structural engineering research and/or practice will be introduced. These profiles serve as focal points of contact and catalysts for potential collaborntion. Professor Zhang Wei, a famous engineer, academic and scientist in engineering mechanics, was born in Beijing in May 1913 . He first studied civil engineering in the Pei- Yang University and then specialized in structural engi neering in the Tangshan Chaio-Tung University. Due to excellent academic results, he was elected a member of the Phi- Tau-Phi (lj>-t-lj» Fraternity in Tang-Shan upon graduation in I 933.
