Numerical modeling of reinforced concrete beams under shear stress with and without external textile-reinforced concrete reinforcement

Numerical modeling of reinforced concrete beams under shear stress with and without external... Numerical modeling of TRC strengthened reinforced concrete beams under shear stress was studied. TRC strengthening consists of a mortar matrix reinforced by grid alkali resistant fiberglass textiles and mat. Initially, elements governing concrete beam behavior and different failure mechanisms were listed. Thanks to this; a time-economical, simplified but effective, numerical model on the macroscopic scale of a reinforced concrete beam sensitive to shear strain was studied. For this purpose, a parametric study of shear transfer coefficients and steel reinforcement anchor length was carried out. Finally, a macroscopic-scale numerical model of TRC composites and TRC strengthened reinforced concrete beam was proposed and validated based on the load-deflection curves and the pattern of cracking. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Journal of Reinforced Plastics and Composites SAGE
