Notes for Contributors

Notes for Contributors The A ustralianJoumal of Education publishes papers on the theory and practice of education from scholars throughout the world who come from disciplines such as philosophy, psychology, political science, economics, history, anthropology, medicine, and sociology. It is hoped that the manuscripts accepted for publica tion represent elegant-conceptual, imaginative-empirical, innovative-policy making, and challenging-practical orientations to the study of education. In preparing articles for publication in The Australian Journal of Education, authors should follow the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (2nd ed.). Instructions on tables, figures, references, metrics, and typing (all copy must be double-spaced) appear in the Manual. Authors are re quested to consult American Psychological Association, Guidelines for Nonsexist Language in APAJournals (Publication Manual Change Sheet 2), American Psychologist, 1977,32, 487-94. All articles should be preceded by an abstract of 100-175 words. Three copies of each manuscript should be submit ted. Dittoed and mimeographed copies are not acceptable and will not be con sidered. Authors should keep a copy of the manuscript to guard against loss in the mail and should check carefully the typing of the final copy. Because manuscripts will be evaluated by a blind reviewing system, authors are requested to include with each copy of the manuscript a cover sheet that shows the title of the manuscript, the name and institutional affiliations of the author/s, and the date the manuscript is submitted. The first page of the manuscript should omit the authors' names and affiliations but should include the title of the manuscript. Every effort should be made by the authors to see that the manuscript itself contains no clues to their identities. Manuscripts (three copies) and Books for Review should be addressed to: Kevin Marjoribanks, Professor of Education, University of Adelaide, South Australia, 5001.
