Long Term Care With Short Term Workers: An Examination Of Nursing Home Nurse Aide Turnover Since it has been consistently documented that the nursing homeindustry is characterized by high labor turnover, this study is undertaken to determine what factors may be contributing to this turnover.Particular attention is directed to selected job and employee relatedcharacteristics that differentiate between nursing home nurse aides whohave either quit their job or who have continued working. The findingssuggest that nurse aides who are older, have more dependent children,live closer to work, have had a lengthier employment tenure on theirprevious job, and have a longer number of months worked as nurseaides are employees who tend to stay on the job.
