From the Publisher THE 1979 ACLD CONFERENCE ADVANCE REPORT The San Francisco 1979 Conference of the Association for Children with Learning Disabilities promises to be one of the most dynamic and relevant conventions ever planned by ACLD. In light‘ of federal changes in the education of children with unique learning styles, many aspects of the four-day program will focus on “where have we been and where are we goingJ’-well synthesized in the conference theme Bridges to Tomorrow. To be held from February 28th through March 3rd at the San Francisco Hilton Hotel, the conference will feature a vast number of innovations, perhaps the most important of which is pre-registration for all conference sections, assuring those attend- ing that they will have seating in those sessions of particular interest to them-if they register sufficiently on time. (Those of us who have traveled across the country in the past to find that certain sessions we wanted or needed to attend were filled to capacity will appreciate this thoughtful kind of pre-planning.)
