Empirical Evidence for a Model of Reading Disability Research

Empirical Evidence for a Model of Reading Disability Research Numerical classification techniques were used to explore the conjecture that inconsistent results of many studies of disabled readers could result from samples being composed of subgroups of children with different characteristics. Some five subgroups were identified using ITPA scores from a sample of 37 poor readers. The significance of the use of numerical taxonomy in research on aptitude-treatment interaction is discussed. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Australian Journal of Education SAGE

Abstract

Numerical classification techniques were used to explore the conjecture that inconsistent results of many studies of disabled readers could result from samples being composed of subgroups of children with different characteristics. Some five subgroups were identified using ITPA scores from a sample of 37 poor readers. The significance of the use of numerical taxonomy in research on aptitude-treatment interaction is discussed.
