Editorial Environment and Urbanization ASIA 4(2) vii–ix © 2013 National Institute of Urban Affairs (NIUA) SAGE Publications Los Angeles, London, New Delhi, Singapore, Om Prakash Mathur Washington DC DOI: 10.1177/0975425313512572 http://eua.sagepub.com This issue of Environment and Urbanization (E&U) Asia marks the conclusion of four years of its launch. Over these years, our effort has been to reach out far and wide in Asia for geographical coverage; to present to its subscribers, articles that address a large array of themes, examples being networks of urban governance, citizenship and negotiated spaces, politics of urban expansion, urban forms including floating houses for sustaining livelihoods, climate change, risks faced by coastal cities, tree transcrip- tion, gentrification of neighbourhoods, functioning of urban institutions in post-conflict cities such as Kabul, urbanization in large countries such as India and China and the like; and to bring into the fold of this journal a mix class of contributors—civil society, researchers, teachers, experts, activists and people in position, that is, those who have something to say.
