Editorial Statement: American Educational Research Journal August 2011, Vol. 48, No. 4, pp. 936–937 DOI: 10.3102/0002831211413068 2011 AERA. http://aerj.aera.net e are honored to have been selected the new editors of the American WEducational Research Journal section on Teaching, Learning, and Human Development. As editors we will work to continue the rich tradition of publishing excellence in education research focused on the topics of teach- ing, learning, and human development. We are grateful to the past AERA Publications Committee chair Russell Rumberger and members of the Committee for this opportunity. We also acknowledge the hard work of the previous editor, Allan Wigfield, and the associate editors: Patricia Alexander, Robert G. Croninger, Deborah Speece, Linda Valli, and Bruce A. VanSledright. Their collaboration with AERA and SAGE Publications to imple- ment an electronic submission system has resulted in more efficient process- ing of manuscripts under consideration for publication. Moreover, we are pleased to have the opportunity to serve under the new AERA publications chair William Cope and members of the current Publications Committee. AERJ has been a premier outlet for education research since it first ap- peared in January 1964.
