Abstract
As 2012 draws to a close, exciting changes are in the air. From 2013, the Australian Journal of Education will join the worldwide stable of SAGE Publications. SAGE is an international publishing house, established in 1965 (which makes it almost as old as this journal). It publishes more than 650 journals, of which 96 are in the education field, including many of the international journals that share readership with us, such as American Educational Research Journal, Review of Educational Research, Journal of Teacher Education and Educational Evaluation and Policy Analysis. SAGE also publishes many of the specialist journals familiar to our readers, including Educational Administration Quarterly, Educational and Psychological Measurement, Journal of Special Education, Qualitative Research and Sociology of Education. SAGE is well established in Australia, publishing the Australian Journal of Management on behalf of the Australian School of Business, University of New South Wales; the Australian Journal of Criminology for Monash University; the Australian Journal of Psychiatry for the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, and the Australian Journal of Sociology in association with the Australian Sociological Association.
