New York: Oxford University Press, 2002, 560 pp. First responders to any issue associated with family violence have an excellent resource in this anthology. Any social services provider, policy maker, or concerned citizen will receive current information on this ubiqui- tous concern. The authors present an up-to-date discussion of legislative changes and advancements in the delivery of social services, health care, and technology. This anthology draws from 27 impressive experts in the field of domestic violence. It is comprehensive, insightful, and scholarly, using case illustrations, research theories, clinical models, innovative tech- niques, and guidelines for advocates, health and mental health providers, and criminal justice personnel. It is a document that uses a multidisciplinary stimulating and motivational perspective. The need for a coordinated and systematic approach to solutions of domestic violence at every societal level is the focus. The bookis organized into five sections. Each section addresses different issues related to domestic violence. Illustrations and the findings of studies describe the critical nature of abuse in intimate relationships.
