Editors Silverstein and Giarrusso present an eclectic collection of 15 studies representing a diversity of populations, nations, and datasets, all sharing a common bond in their grounding in Bengtson’s solidarity paradigm and the paradigms that have been inspired by it. Following a delightful, remi- niscent foreword by Toni Antonucci, the book is organized in five parts, each part comprised of several chapters which originated from a conference held shortly after Bengtson’s retirement.
