BOOK REVIEWS Among the recommendations of the authors of The University and Its Community for bringing the community in general into closer touch with the cultural and enriching influences of a university-type education, they recommend the establishment of Area or Community Colleges, some of which might be created from existing technical colleges and teachers' colleges. It is suggested that such institutions might develop courses leading to degrees as well as post-secondary vocational and professional courses, and community developmental studies.
