Book Review: A Critical Theory of Education: Habermas and Our Children's Future Australian Journal of Education it is an excellent publication which is thoroughly recommended as a text or as a general reference. This book provides a valuable data base on the history, staff, students and resources of universities in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Information is provided on the names, qualifications, research interests and research funding of staff, numbers of undergraduate and postgraduate students, as well as support resources in terms of equipment and personnel within each psychology depart- ment. Compared with Australian universities, the number of undergraduate students is very low (generally less than 200 first-year students) and the number of support staff is consistently high (most commonly one support person to 1-2 members of staff). However there are a number of limitations to the information. The format is not completely standard for each institution.
