International Faculty of Comparative Law Bulletins The summer session of the Faculty will take place in Messina, Italy from 12 to 31 July 1982. The regular first cycle courses introducing the principal systems of law in the world will be held. Comparative law approaches to major branches of law will be given in the second cycle. Requests for information and applications should be ad­ dressed to Prof. A. Rieg, Faculte International de Droit Compare, Place d'Athenes, 67084 Strasbourg, France. Dormitory accommodations will be available at the Univer­ sity of Messina, together with dining facilities. INTERNATIONAL SOCIETY ON FAMILY LAW The International Society on Family Law will present its Fourth World Confer­ ence on the subject 'Toward Alternative Methods of Resolving Disputes Within the Family," 11-16 June 1982, at Harvard Law School, Cambridge, Massachusetts. Regis­ tration can be made through Professor Sanford N. Katz, Convenor, Boston College Law School, 885 Center St., Newton Center, MA 02159. Topics to be dealt with in­ clude: Marriage Dissolution (improving the judicial model); Marriage Dissolution (al­ ternatives to the judicial model); Financial Arrangements; Arrangements for Children; and Medical Decision-Making Within the Family. SWISS INSTITUTE OF COMPARATIVE LAW The Swiss Institute of Comparative Law has been created by a federal statute of 6 Oct. 1978. It has started work in a new building near the new campus of the Univer­ sity of Lausanne. The Institute will: provide documents and studies necessary for legislation for conclusion of international conventions; participate in international efforts towards approximation and unification of law; provide information to courts, administrations, and attorneys; and conduct scientific research, promote and coordinate studies in Swiss universities, and furnish an appropriate center of study for researchers. About twenty persons will work in the Institute. It is seeking to establish a team of scientific collaborators able to conduct research in a great a number of legal sys­ tems as possible.
