Oberon, Zephyr, Zeal, Capture, Portal + Agri-Dex, Comite, and Kelthane were broadcast on 28 Jun with a CO pressurized backpack sprayer at 14.3 gpa and 18 psi through 8002VS nozzles spaced 18 inches apart on the spray boom. Treatments were evaluated at 4, 7, 11, and 18 DAT by counting the number of TSM between two veins of a cotton leaf per plot. This represented 27.1% (n = 38, SD = 2.8) of the entire leaf area on 2 Jul. A RCBdesign was used with 4 replicates; plots were 4 rows by 10 ft. Data were analyzed using ANOVA and LSD procedures. Pre-treatment counts on 28 Jun had a mean of 37.9 TSM between the two leaf veins (n = 20, SD = 14.1). All treatments except some of the Oberon treatments had significantly fewer TSM than the untreated check at 4 and 7 DAT. By 11 DAT, TSM populations in the Capture and Comite treatments were also the same as the untreated check. Populations had decreased by 18 DAT. Table 1.
