Apple | Malus domestica Rosy apple aphid (RAA) | Dysaphis plantaginea (Passerini) flupyradifurone This trial was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of Sivanto Prime with two different classes of adjuvants for the control of RAA. Three tree plots arranged in a RCB design were established in a 10-yr-old ‘Crimson Gold’ (Blue Block) apple planting (14 × 6 ft spacing) located at the Trevor Nichols Research Center. Test materials were applied with an FMC 1029 airblast sprayer calibrated to deliver 100 gpa at 2.5 mph. Regular maintenance foliar applications were applied to all treatments including Captan 80WDG, Imidan 70WP, Indar 2F, Inspire Super 2.82EW, Manzate Pro-Stik 75WDG, and Merivon 4.17SC. In addition, Alion 1.67SC and glyphosate were banded below the trees for weed control. Treatments were applied 14 May as indicated (Table 1). RAA evaluations were made by inspecting shoots for 2 min and recording the number of live colonies. RAA evaluations occurred on 14 May (pre-treatment count), 17 May, 24 May, 1 Jun, and 7 Jun with mean live colonies reported (Table 1). Although non-transformed means are presented, ANOVA was run on square-root transformed data. Transformed treatment means were analyzed using ANOVA and means separation by Tukey’s HSD at P < 0.05.
