Hunt Bean leaf beetle (BLB): Cerotoma trifurcata (Forster) Foliar and seed treatments of registered and non-registered insecticides were evaluated for control of BLB. Seed treatments were either commercially prepared or were supplied to us pre-treated. Experimental design was a randomized complete block with four replications. Foliar treatments were applied to soybean plots on 30 May. All liquid insecticides were applied with a back-pack sprayer calibrated to deliver 20 gpa at 25 psi. One pre-count and four post treatment beetles counts were taken on day one, three, seven and 14. Combine yields were taken on 2 Oct and adjusted to 13% moisture. Results were analyzed using analysis of variance procedures. Treatment means were separated using LSD procedures. There were significantly lower beetle numbers for the Cruiser and Gaucho seed treatments than the untreated check with Apron for the pre count. Day one beetle count indicates control with the foliar treatments. On day three and seven beetle counts did vary significantly. By day 14, there was little significant difference in beetle numbers between any of the treatments and the untreated check, however beetle numbers were generally low and are thus not presented. Most yield results were not significantly different than the untreated check, although several treatments did yield significantly more than the check.
