This doctoral thesis of the University of Neuchatel can be compared in size and importance to the recent series of French disserta tions. Dr. Schneider's purpose is not to propose some supranational no tion of "domicile," but to study domicile as a connecting factor in the Private International Law of Persons and Families (Statut personnel). He makes a comparative study of the notion of "domicile" in French, German and Swiss Private International Law, and in recent interna tional conventions, and then draws some conclusions de lege ferenda. One of the main results of his study is to show that domicile for the use of Private International Law—which means the whole
