Flush To Flushing Blues Let me tell you a story âBout a guy from Flushing F-L-U-S-H-I-N-G And his Queens Quandary FFFFlushing Flusssshhhhing Fluuuussshhhh-ing Close your eyes and just say âFluuuussshhhhing . . .â Not a pretty picture is it? Could you imaging someone singing, âI left my heartâ . . . in Flushing? or âIt donât mean a thingâ . . . If youâre not from Flush-ing? Thatâs why for years, Iâve been like, âHi, Iâm from . . . (whisper) Flushing.â Not just because of the way it sounds, but because Flushing is in Queens. One of the ï¬ve ï¬ne boroughs that comprise our City. But somehow, weâve gotten third class New York City citizenship. Weâre behind Brooklyn, and, of course, the center of the universe . . . Manhattan. And thatâs not fair. Because Queens is the largest borough of New York. And Flushing is the biggest part of Queens. So if you lifted Flushing up and put it somewhere else . . . Weâd be a major city. And therein lies that olâ Queens quandary. Because we are, where we are; So
