Alongside the explosive growth of interest and use in this network of networks is the spectacular increase in the number of mailing lists, discussion groups, newsgroups, and individual sites offering information of use to health care professionals working with PWAs. While I cannot cover all the sources in this column, I will highlight some of the more popular avenues. I have segmented the information into three sections: Internet/Bitnet mailing lists, newsgroups, and independent sites. In the text, I refer to a number of Internet tools, including email, ftp, telnet, and gopher. At the end of the column, I cite a number of recently published books and documents that can aid the beginner who is seeking to navigate the Internet.
