Abstract
This paper reviews the literature, according to the hierarchy of available evidence, surrounding the safety and efficacy of soft-tissue fillers and neuromodulators in lower facial rejuvenation. The author will take into consideration the anatomical structures and functionality of this region of the face, explore the multifactorial changes that occur at the distinct anatomical layers and discuss the restoration of these structures. The article will also briefly assess the safety profile of soft-tissue fillers and neuromodulators.
