Chemical peels for the body: a review of selected ingredients and indications

Chemical peels for the body: a review of selected ingredients and indications Chemical peels are an established modality of skin rejuvenation, owing to their versatility and the substantial body of literature underpinning a variety of exfoliating agents. Used appropriately, topical formulations can successfully treat, and often correct, a number of these concerns on the body (e.g. on the hands, neck, chest and arms). Chemical peels are an essential component in the aesthetic practitioner's toolbox, as they can be readily combined when applied to the body with other rejuvenation procedures, often providing synergistic treatment, as well as greater flexibility in tailoring procedures to specific patient needs. A number of ingredients and formulations are available, which target specific cosmetic concerns. This article explores the advantages of commonly used superficial and medium-depth ingredients for body peeling. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Journal of Aesthetic Nursing Mark Allen Group

Abstract

Chemical peels are an established modality of skin rejuvenation, owing to their versatility and the substantial body of literature underpinning a variety of exfoliating agents.
