Z onis Eye Department, Rambam University Hospital, Aba Khoushy School of Medicine, Haifa Drusen of the optic nerve are not rare. They have been well recognized both clinically and histologically for over a hundred years. Whereas it is claimed that in the great majority of cases central vision is not influenced, others suggest that in about 2 5 % of the patients with drusen, visual acuity is affected |D uke-E i.dkr, 1964J. Optic disc drusen are commonly associated with visual field defects and, in some cases, there was definite evidence that the field defects were slowly progressive [Wai.sh and H oyt, 1969], This report is concerned with an unusual case of drusen on the optic disc associated with transient total loss of vision in one eye and visual field defects in the other eye. Case Report A healthy woman, aged 44, was referred to our out-patient clinic on January 7, 1971, because of visual disturbances in her right eye.
